“It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” Pulled From Radio

It seems the controversy over “Baby It’s Cold Outside” won’t be the last controversy for classic Christmas radio this year.

WWTF in Shermer, Illinois announced they would immediately cease playing the Andy Williams Christmas standard, “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”.

A mauled Ding Dong

The station reports it received complaints from members of the People For Ethical Treatment Of Pastries. In the holiday tune background singers can repeatedly be heard repeating the words “Ding Dong” over and over.

“We believe the subversive use of the word Ding Dong repeatedly in the song, is an attempt to lure people into purchasing and eating Ding Dongs. Rampant abuse of Ding Dongs may have been acceptable in the 60’s, but I think it has no place in today’s enlightened world.” said King Don spokesperson for the pastry advocacy group.

The group estimates that 2-3 million Ding Dongs are destroyed every year, and believes many more go unreported.
