A Thanksgiving promotion conducted by a Cincinnati radio station turned tragic last night.
The radio station was set to conduct a “Great Turkey Drop” promotion giving away live turkeys at a local shopping mall. At some point a tragic decision was made to actually drop the live turkeys from from a helicopter into the parking lot.
Witnesses described the scene as horrific saying, “Turkeys were falling from the sky like sacks of wet cement”.
We reached out to the station general manager Arthur Carlson for a statement, he replied with a one line statement, “God as my witness, I thought turkeys could fly”.
The Humane Society and local police are currently investigating the incident, no charges are expected to be filed at this time.
Cleanup crews say that they expect to be working at the Pinedale Shopping Mall until early morning.“We hope to have the carnage gone in time for the Black Friday rush” said one worker.
