Prince Alyusi Islassis of Nigeria held a banquet at the Beverly Hills Palm today as a token of thanks to all of the people who helped him during the civil war in his country. Alyusi or AI as his friends refer to him, recalled his story to those gathered about the time when the civil war broke out and he was stuck with all of his profits from the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (who is desirous of oil exploration in other parts of the world) and no way to get out of the country with those profits.
Thanks to the modern technology of electronic mail or e-mail as some call it, he was able to send messages around the world and with some help from total strangers he was able to wire all of the money out. As a token of his appreciation he let the total strangers who helped out keep 10%.
AI introduced those gathered to representatives of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company, as well as with certain officials of the Central Bank of Nigeria. WSMH 19 approached AI for some questions about his journey but he said he had to “leave quickly and time is of the essence in this matter.” He did give us his number and ask that we call at our earliest convenience.
